Northern Lights: first cross-border CO2 transport & storage project

The Dutch company Yara Sluiskil and the project Northern Lights have signed the first commercial agreement on cross border CO2 transport and storage. The start of the cooperation is set to be early 2025, with 800,000 tons of pure CO2 that will be compressed, liquified and then transported from the Netherlands to the Northern Lights storage facility, 2,600meters under the seabed off the coast of Øygarden, Norway.
